NCCGB Junior Choirs
Training Choir
When a child is accepted into the NCCGB, he or she joins the Training Choir. A choir member must spend at least two courses in the Training Choir before moving up into the Main Choir. This is a valuable period during which children become accustomed to the choir’s routine, learn repertoire and make new friendships.
Transitional Choir
Some years there is a Transitional Choir, for children who have spent some time in the Training Choir but need a little more time before joining the Main Choir.
Main Choir
When the Musical Director considers that individual children have gained sufficient experience, they move into the Main Choir, where they work on more complex music. At this level, choir members may have the opportunity to go on tour, for example to Australia & New Zealand (2004) and Canada & the USA (2008).
