Katie Alder began her classical training when she joined the Winchester Cathedral Girls’ Choir in 2003. She is currently studying with Veronica Veysey Campbell and has participated in master classes with James Bowman, Dr Ron Morris and Colin Baldy. She regularly performs as a soloist in Hampshire and Sussex.
Katie graduated with a First Class Music BA(Hons) from the University of Chichester in 2012, studying singing with Jacquelyn Fugelle. She was a member of the university chamber choirs, performing solos internationally in works including Bach Magnificat, Mozart Requiem and Coronation Mass. She undertook her first operatic role at AIMS International Music School in 2012, playing Dorinda in scenes from Handel Orlando, directed by Stephen Varcoe. Recent engagements include chorus in Opera Alumnus’s debut touring production of Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas and soprano soloist for Handel Messiah, Vivaldi Nulla in Mundo Pax Sincera and Mozart Regina Coeli.
Katie has been teaching singing on the National Children’s Choir of Great Britain courses since Easter 2009 and currently teaches privately.
