Conductor – Yellow Choir

Rachel read Music at Exeter University and specialised in Music for her PGCE.  She is now the Assistant Director of Music at Exeter Cathedral School.  In 2007, as part of the Chorister Outreach Project which seeks to enhance the singing experiences of children in primary schools, Rachel founded the Devon County Junior Choir for children aged 8 – 13.  In 2012, she founded Schola Exe, the county senior choir for girls aged 13 – 18.  In August 2012, Rachel was appointed MD of the (original) Chivenor Military Wives Choir which was followed by her appointment as MD of Lympstone MWC in February 2013.

Rachel is a former member of the National Youth Choir and several Devon County music ensembles and continues to perform with several local musical ensembles when time permits.  She has been a member of Exeter Philharmonic Choir since 1996 and was a founding member of the female vocal quartet Viva.

Rachel was delighted to join the NCCGB team as a singing tutor at the 2009 summer course in Harrogate and became the Conductor of the Yellow Choir at Easter 2011.
