Susannah (Suzzie) Vango 

With a background in choral music as a member of the National Youth Choir and the Farnham Youth Choir, Suzzie is now a professional singer performing as a soloist throughout the UK and with choirs including Ex Cathedra Consort, Polyphony, National Chamber Choir of Ireland and Howard Goodall’s Enchanted Voices.

Suzzie studied music at Birmingham University, shortly followed by a Master’s in singing at Birmingham Conservatoire. She is now the conductor of the Farnham Boys’ Choir and voice coach for Farnham Youth Choir and South West Essex Choir. She also teaches singing privately and at Lanesborough Preparatory School for Boys in Guildford, and leads the singer’s course at the national Sing for Pleasure summer school.

Suzzie is passionate about working with young people’s voices to encourage them to enjoy making music, and has worked extensively for Ex Cathedra Education and their partnership with the nationally government funded singing scheme, SingUp! She has been a lead vocal tutor for the group on projects including Singing Playgrounds and Singing Works with hundreds of primary schools nationwide. Between 2008 and 2010 she led the chorister outreach programme for Rochester Cathedral.

Her experiences as a conductor have seen her conducting in a number of venues including the Royal Albert Hall.  Her work as a voice coach, conductor and workshop leader has taken her worldwide; in 2012 she will be visiting a school in China.

Suzzie joined the staff of NCCGB in 2009.
