With a background in choral music, as a member of the National Youth Choir of Great Britain and the Farnham Youth Choir, Suzzie is passionate about working with young people’s voices to enjoy making music to the best of their capabilities.
With a voice reviewed as “spectacularly effulgent” (Birmingham Post) and “beautifully haunting” (Gramophone), Suzzie has performed across the UK and been a featured soloist on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM. She has recorded and toured with professional ensembles including: Ex Cathedra Consort, Tenebrae, the National Chamber Choir of Ireland and The Eric Whitacre Singers.
Suzzie studied music at Birmingham University, shortly followed by a Master’s in vocal performance at Birmingham Conservatoire. She is now the director of Chipping Campden Young Voices and runs a number of choirs for Edgbaston High School. She has been voice coach and assistant conductor to Wyre Forest Young Voices and Kidderminster Choral Society for the last 10 years, was voice coach to the multi-award winning Farnham Youth Choir and is currently the singing teacher at Worcester Cathedral.
Suzzie is a lead vocal tutor for Ex Cathedra Education, working on their multi award winning education programme and through her work with her own music education company Vocal.Point, she is currently writing singing strategies for music services and schools. As a vocal coach, singing teacher and workshop leader she has been invited to deliver workshops for Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, National Singposium, Dartington International Summer School, Talking Birds & The Orchestra of the Swan and Glyndebourne Youth Opera. Suzzie’s work has taken her internationally to Europe, Asia and across the USA.
