We are truly saddened to have to announce the death of one of our longstanding and dedicated trustees, Elaine Bonnon, who passed away on 12th November.
Elaine has been involved in the NCCGB for many years, first as a choir parent whilst her daughter Ali was in the choir, and then on our Board of Trustees, which she joined in 2016. As a charity we rely heavily on the dedication and commitment from our trustees. We could not function without their selfless contribution. Elaine was a much-valued member of our Board, who will be sorely missed. She brought a wealth of experience to the role, both from her perspective as a parent and from her professional life in HR. Elaine was passionate about ensuring that the choir was accessible to all, regardless of their background, and this underlined much of her work with us.
Elaine was a lovely, warm person. Her contribution to the NCCGB cannot be underestimated. We were delighted that despite her illness, Elaine attended our 25th Anniversary concert this year in Birmingham Town Hall, and that the music of the choir brought her such joy.
We send our deepest condolences to Elaine’s children Ali, and Andrew.
