Dear Parents/Carers,
A few updates from NCCGB.
Easter course balance payment
The balance payment for the Easter course was due last Friday 28th February. I would be grateful if you could transfer your balance payment if you have not already done so.
NCCGB merchandise
It is possible to link through to our online shop through the page in the members’ section of our website. You can find this here…
Our suppliers will deal with you directly, and orders do not need to come via NCCGB.
Please note that the children are not required to have a NCCGB hoodie, this is just if they would like one. We will provide T-shirts.
Easter Cabaret
During every course, NCCGB hosts a cabaret evening where members can perform a piece of their choice, either vocal or instrumental, to the rest of the choir. This could be either a solo or group item.
We have a limited number of performance slots due to time constraints and may not be able to accommodate everyone if we are oversubscribed. However, we run a cabaret at every course, and therefore there are plenty of opportunities to participate.
If your child would like to perform, please submit their choice of item by Wednesday 19th March by completing the form here…
Please note that, for the performer’s sake, all items must be well rehearsed. Instrumentalists can use sheet music if they need it, but singers must be able to perform without it. There will be the opportunity to rehearse ahead of the cabaret evening.
Easter course Party night
During our Easter course, we have party night on Tuesday night. Junior Choir members often like to dress up for the theme, although there is no obligation to do so. Our theme this Easter is Party Animals.
Easter course Crazy Day
This course, Thursday will be ‘Crazy Day’ – wear your crazy clothes or crazy hair! We hope that everyone will be keen to join in – and bring something crazy to wear. Please note – this must not be anything permanent or semi-permanent.
Soundabout workshop
We are thrilled that Soundabout Inclusive Choir will be joining us again on 17th April, for a joint workshop led by our Blue Choir conductor Suzzie Vango, alongside the Soundabout Choir team. Blue Choir members will be participating in the workshop.
Choir member achievements
Lauren Baker has been awarded a choral scholarship at Merton College, Oxford
Lottie Bell – ABRSM Grade 5 Music Theory
Benjamin Cosadinos has been awarded a music scholarship for secondary school.
Chloe Norgate won the Adjudicators Choice Award at the Young Singer of the Year Competition at school.
Abira Tripathi – Rock School Grade 4 vocal with distinction, Trinity college Grade 3 guitar with distinction. Abira has been called for the second round of auditions for West End Calling.
I will send out a newsletter at the end of March/beginning of April with final details of our Easter course, including a kit list and daily schedules for each choir. There is also lots of information in the members’ area of our website, including choir handbooks, so please do have a look there…
If you have any questions in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Best wishes
Nicole
